About Animal Gestation Calculators

Animal Gestation Calculators gives pet owners, breeders and small farmers a clear answer to one question: when is the baby due? Each calculator turns a breeding date into a due date, a normal birth window and the key dates in between.

Who runs this site

The site is run by Iftikhar Ahmad, who leads a small editorial team. The team researches every guide, builds every calculator and decides what goes on each page. Guides are published under the team name because each one is researched, checked and edited by more than one person.

The site started because most due-date tools give one date and stop there. Real pregnancies do not work like that. A dog can deliver on day 58 or day 72 and both are normal, so every tool here shows the full range and explains why it exists.

How every page is made

  1. Find the real question. We look at what people actually search for and what the current top results leave out.
  2. Check the numbers. Gestation lengths, ranges and warning signs come from veterinary references and university extension services, such as the Merck Veterinary Manual.
  3. Build the tool. Every calculator uses the same checked figures as the guide beside it, so the numbers never disagree.
  4. Draw our own charts. Timelines, calendars and comparison charts on this site are made by us from the data.
  5. Review and update. Each page shows the date it was last updated. When a reference changes, we change the page.

The full list of figures and where they come from is on our how we calculate page.

Our editorial standards

  • Every number is taken from a veterinary or university source and listed on the how we calculate page.
  • Every chart and diagram is drawn by us from that data. Photos are free stock images, edited and labeled honestly.
  • Each guide is checked for plain language, grammar and accuracy before it goes live, and shows the date it was last updated.
  • No page is written to sell a product, and no advertiser can change what a page says.

What this site is not

We are not a veterinary clinic, and nothing here replaces an exam. A calculator can estimate a due date. Only a vet can confirm a pregnancy, check that it is going well and help if something goes wrong.

We do not accept payment to recommend products, and no company pays to change what a page says.

Spotted a mistake?

If a number looks wrong or a page is unclear, please tell us through the contact page. We check every report against the references and fix confirmed errors quickly.
